How our products are made
Every product we sell has been lovingly handmade by Masai ladies in the Mara, in Kenya.
Beads are hand sewn onto our products using thread made from recycled cement bags and the brass hooks and rings have been made using recycled padlocks.
Each item is unique…no two are exactly the same.
We have worked hard to ensure everything has been made to the highest quality possible.
Most of our products are made using untreated leather.
To protect your leather, please feel free to use any products suited for this. Please note, some of these may change the color of the leather.
To clean your Mara Tatu products, we suggest using a light damp cloth to gently wipe, then air dry. Please do not use soap.
We use a lot of brass in our designs. This can oxidize depending on the season. To clean, please rub gently with a polishing cloth.
All products will be sent to you in a reusable cotton cloth bag, ideal for long term storage.
We have included a few extra beads with your purchase in the unlikelihood one falls off.
We have also included a cleaning cloth for your use.
